New Podcast Pairs Exhibiting Artists to Talk Power, Kinship, Grieving and Healing

Facilitated by artist, curator and 色库TV alum Rebecca Wang, the three-episode podcast airs in support of Conditional Belonging, currently on view at Access Gallery.

A new podcast recently debuted in support of , an exhibition curated by 色库TV community member Rebecca Wang and currently showing at Access Gallery in Vancouver鈥檚 Chinatown neighbourhood.

Titled , the podcast takes its name from a quote included by artist and 色库TV student Taryn Goodwin in her work, The Ideal School Project 鈥 a text work on view in Conditional Belonging.

In each of the podcast鈥檚 three episodes, two of the artists in Conditional Belonging pair off to discuss some of the themes common to their respective practices, such as 鈥減ower relations, kinship, resistance, grieving and healing,鈥 according to on Access Gallery鈥檚 website.

鈥淪ocial practice artist and community organizer Taryn Goodwin and artist and photographer Neena Robertson talk about access, learning, labour, and self-care in institutions and their practices.

鈥淭he conversation between multidisciplinary performance collective Art Action Earwig and photographer Tadafumi Tamura contemplates 鈥 the injustice and struggle inflicted by colonial systems and capitalism, and how their lived experiences as immigrants and former sex workers animate their work.

鈥淩ed River M茅tis artist Maria-Margaretta and Lil'wat artist Sydney Frances Pascal discuss strategies [for navigating] colonial society as Indigenous women, such as storytelling, humour, and making art 鈥 especially beadwork 鈥 for their own sake.鈥

The first of the podcast鈥檚 three episodes, titled A Gentle Form of Activism, is currently available for streaming below, and . The podcast, which is facilitated by Rebecca, will air throughout the duration of Conditional Belonging, with transcripts available.
