September 24th: Citizen Kane (1941)

A perennial presence on critics’ “greatest film of all time” lists; come see what all the fuss is about! The story of a wealthy, unloved megalomaniac running for office somehow still feels relevant today. Director Orson Welles, cinematographer Gregg Toland, and editor Robert Wise employe a range of unconventional cinematic tricks to create otherwise impossible visuals. Innovation in film form, or special effects extravaganza? Watch and decide for yourself.
