Join us for an online lunch-hour artist talk and presentation with Izzy Cenedese as part of this year's I spy... Speaker Series.

This online artist talk series is a part of a connecting bridge of projects created by UNIT/PITT Society for Art and Critical Awareness. Multi-disciplinary curator Nadia Mahamoor has invited three artists to discuss their practice, present their work, and share their common ground with the themes of I spy鈥, UNIT/PITT鈥檚 disposable camera mail art project. The first talk is with Izzy Cenedese on April 21.

About:

Izzy Cenedese is a musician with a visceral writing style. Focusing on lyrics, they string stories together using a 鈥渇reaky folky鈥 sound mixed between sweet melodies. Izzy is the recipient of Said The Whales鈥 2020 Young Artist Grant and has since been playing shows locally. They are now working on their artist collective 鈥淔reshly Squeezed鈥(named after their debut album), experimenting with a hyper pop alias, and hoping to put an album out soon.

Nadia Mahamoor is a first generation Sri-Lankan-Malay multi-disciplinary creator currently residing on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the the xwm蓹胃kw蓹y虛 蓹m (Musqueam), S岣祑x瘫 w煤7mesh (Squamish), and s蓹l虛 ilw蓹ta蓙涩 (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Her work currently focuses on identity, textiles, fantasy, futurisms and moral ambiguity. She enjoys conceptual design, experience building, expression, creating dialogs, sharing stories with communities, and exploring new narratives. Currently, she is in the process of completing a BDes at 色库TV, majoring in Industrial Design.
