Please join us for an in-person talk with artist Pebofatso Mokoena, Wednesday, Sep 18, 3:30 pm PST in Rennie Hall, B2160.
Born 1993, Mokoena holds a BA Honours in Fine Art (with distinction) and is completing a Master of Arts in Fine Arts at Wits University. In 2014, he completed his N.Dip (Visual Art) at the University of Johannesburg. Between 2017 - 2021, Pebofatso taught drawing and presentation at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture, at UJ.
Emerging from early practice in printmaking, Mokoena’s painting practice is formally underscored by precise mark, dot + line which produce visual maps that compose nuanced ideas around relations between concept, object and the artistic gesture.
